Lotusphere OGS = OMG
Category Lotusphere2008
While MacWorlds future is uncertain as a large tech-conference, Lotusphere shows no lack such lack of enthusiasm. The lines that wrap around the inside of the Dolphin Walt Disney Conference hall are huge. I have to admit a bias this year, as having been selected for Lotus' Blogging 25, I am sitting in the very front of THOUSANDS of people, while sitting in a yellow bean bag. Yes, that's right, I'm an IT professional with two kids in college, but the world will forever know me as one of the Beanie Bag Bloggers.
IBM/Lotus, on the other hand, is all about business. The session starts with the Blue Man Group as the warm up with their insane percussion rock symphony on PVC tubing. Bob Picciano, in his first moments explained that his wife Deidre is a developer for Lotus Notes. He doesn't just get Notes, it gets it served to him as dinner conversation.
To work within the realm of Live Blogging, here are my notes, but I'll be updating this post (and rewriting it) as I can.
16 qtrs of growth, IBM will announce 4th quater
12,236 new customers since ND8x
Dan Akroyd. Funny, insightful about "collaboration" with his film career. Story about actor and shooters, who works for whom ? Actors work for the camera crew.
Many of the Bean Bag Bloggers are using their Notes client, with a replica of their blogs (as I am). So, even though the wi-fi is spotty, the blogging goes one. When the magic of cloud dissapates with a broken connection, it's even more important to have a client which can work without a wire.
Martin Luther King Day
