The Confederacy Has Fallen

Category Diversions Leadership
Obama's success is an amazing feat by any measurement. Looking at Ohio and Florida turning blue was amazing. Last night, watching the election results was a spectator sport. But, I live in Virginia, which once housed the Confederacy Capital in Richmond. If you look at a breakdown of which precincts voted McCain or Obama, everyone expected the Northern Virginians to vote Democratic, which they did in huge proportions. But, Richmond ?

The Confederacy has fallen, Richmond is wearing Union blue.

Gravatar Image4 - Charles, I agree that the war has not been won. I doubt it ever will, just the nature of being human. But, it's a wonderful memory for me to hold.

Gravatar Image2 - Lincoln provies the appropriate refrain. There is a statue of him, in Richmond:

"To bind up the nation's wounds"
