VMWare To Release Free VMServer

Category Administration

For years, VMWare has owned the virtualization market. Lately, they have been facing fierce competition from open source alternatives (e.g., XenSource), and Microsoft has said it will be adding its virtualization into its next server release. VMWare's response is to release a free version that includes even more features than it's current GSX product, which is priced at $1,400.

You are supposed to be able to download the beta, next week (or so) at this link, which is currently not active.

In the meantime, amble over to Carl Tyler's Lotusphere site and start to read up on why virtualization makes sense for your Domino installation.
