Not everyone has bookmarked these links, which are especially important when you are doing an upgrade or new installation.
- The core site is the InfoCenter for Domino 8.x, which has centralized all the on-line documentation for administrators and developers.
- The traditional Lotus Developerworks Documentation site is important, but it's not always current with the latest and greatest.
- IBM supplies a Software Support Toolbar which is useful in ferreting out current support documentation.
- One of my favorites is the undocumented, super Google search of IBM support documentation. Basically, it's a Google site search of ibm.com/support/docview.wss with whatever Google keyword syntax you'd like to employ. Using a Google search will allow much more complex searches.
- Frequently forgotten, is the IBM Publications Center. This is your one-stop shopping for Domino (and all IBM) documentation. It is a comprehensive index of Redbooks, Redpapers and assorted documentation or manuals. It's how I found the Domino 8.5 Installation Guide.
- Sadly, IBM has transitioned away from Redbooks, and now gives a tremendous amount of technical information through the use of wikis. I think the wikis show promise, but I really miss the organization of a comprehensive Redbook.
- Finally, Fix Central is where you can pick up hot-fixes and patches that are specific to your platform. It's surprising, but ND8.5 already has one hot-fix for Domino.
That's the list I check before any upgrades or new installations, hope it's as useful for your work !
