The View Journal Just Keeps Going Strong
Category None
Over the years, I've come to trust only a few, really outstanding publications and technical resources. The View is a favorite. Concise, clear, and insightful. The View (found at eview.com) has been publishing a top-tier, Domino oriented technical journal that is free of advertising. All the referenced programs are on-line for free--a strong enticement to subscribe for the text articles.
In the March/April issues they discuss everything from AJAX to WebDAV, and the articles are their usual standard of clarity and usefulness. The authors are all domain experts, many of them IBM engineers or Lotus Business Partners.
Personally, I'll be pouring over Jon Champlin's article on memory management, Mikkel Heisterberg's analysis of the 'business card' inclusion with Sametime, and Joacim Boive's comprehensive overview of WebDAV.
I don't have any SPARC based servers at my work site, but I'm still looking forward to understanding how Domino performs under a Solaris hardware/software configuration. The article on e-mail archiving is a nuanced overview, that includes references and the top Domino solutions. Before I started work at my company, they selected an archiving system that created massive problems (and will take another 12 months to untangle), it's easy to see the benefit of getting it right.
I can honestly say that I've never had an issue where I didn't find something that saved me from significant headaches, or gave me a jump start in a new direction.
Thank you, View !
