Google Mini Does Lotus Domino

Category Management

The Google Mini Search Appliance is now new and improved (never really sure how those terms work together). The little fellow is relatively inexpensive for a search appliance, and easily handles 100,000 documents. And yes, "The Mini can index content in Lotus Domino. We suggest that you restrict your crawl to only content that you would want all users to access. If you want user-level secure search for your information, you should consider the Google Search Appliance."

It's pretty cool, and I'm impressed by the range of its capabilities, but a lot of SMBs are not going to find 100,000 documents particularly useful against Domino databases.

It's still a terrific buy at $2,995.00 (with no discounts for non-profits or educational centers).

Gravatar Image1 - I just looked at Google mini's site and they do not list Domino .nsf databases as being supported. Is this support just starting?
