Notes.INI Settings for 6.5.3 and 6.0.5
New from Lotus: the latest Notes.ini settings
Below is a list of the new Notes.ini parameters included in the Notes/Domino 6.0.5 and 6.5.3 releases.
SPR# JFOR4WJNDU - Added an additional setting for the MailConvertMIMEonTransfer Notes.ini setting. When set to 2, MIME mail being sent to "No Preference" recipients will not be converted before transfer. This has been fixed in releases 6.0.5, 6.5.3, and 5.0.13. |
SPR# KTOT5E6NS9 - The Notes.ini variable iNotes_WA_DisableExhaustiveNameLookup=1 will disable a namelookup call. This flag doesn't mean that only one entry can be found as the result of namelookup. It means that once name lookup finds the entries, name lookup won't search in any other directories. So when exhaustive lookup is disabled and you perform a lookup for "user" and there are some names such as "user1", "user2"... in the primary domino directory, the ambiguous name dialog will appear for them. If there is no entry such as "user.." in the primary domino directory, name lookup will search in other directories such as the condensed directory catalog, extended directory catalog, or LDAP. Then once the entry is found, lookup will stop. |
SPR# JROU5YUNQQ - Added the Notes.ini variable "NOTES_TEMPDIR" to specify the Notes Temporary directory. |
SPR# WMOE5ZAL3B - Introduced a new Notes.ini variable DEBUG_LOGGER_BUF_FULL_NO_WAIT to increase the domino server performance with transactional logging enabled. |
SPR# JUYA5RQ589 - Fixed a page refreshing problem with session authentication. This fix requires the Notes.ini setting "DominoDisableLastModifiedWithEtags=1", to make sure that Internet Explorer does not get the last modified header. This regression was introduced in 6.0.1. |
SPR# MJON5TNRZ3 - The Notes.ini variables 'EnableLocalDiskStats=1' (new, default=1) and 'EnableRemoteDiskStats=1' (now working, default=0) will display ALL local filesystem statistics and/or ALL remote filesystem statistics, respectively, when the SHOW STATISTICS DISK command is given to the server. Please note: Nonresponding NFS (remote) servers WILL HANG the Notes server, so use the 'EnableRemoteDiskStats=1' Notes.ini variable setting with extreme caution. Also note: With this release, there is a change in the default behavior of SHOW STATISTICS DISK (with no EnableLocalDiskStats or EnableRemoteDiskStats present in Notes.ini). The new default behavior is to list all local filesystems, whether they contain Notes data areas or not, and to list no remote filesystems. To return to the default behavior of the previous release, add 'EnableLocalDiskStats=0' to the Notes.ini; the SHOW STATISTICS DISK command will then list only local filesystems containing Notes data areas, and no remote filesystems. |
SPR# DMEA5KZQR2 - Fixed a problem where when HTTPEnableConnectorHeaders=1 non-standard SSL port wasn't honored. This regression was introduced in 6.0.2. |
SPR# KCHN5WRPS5 - Allowed the ability to disable group expansion when Smarthost is enabled for all recipients in the local internet domain by setting the Notes.ini variable "SMTPSmartHostAllDisableGroupExpansion=1". |
SPR# MFIN5U3SGE - Added functionality to allow NameLookup to return group and person documents when readers fields are used. This requires the Notes.ini NAMELOOKUP_NAMELIST_DISABLE=1 to be set on the server and will not work if you have xACL's enabled on the Address book. |
SPR# IDEA5VSS27 - Notes 6 was paging out the working set on Windows after 60 seconds of inactivity unless DISABLE_TRIMWS=1 was set in the Notes.ini. This caused problems, particularly when using 128MB or less RAM. With this fix, the paging out behavior will only occur if DISABLE_TRIMWS=0 is explicitly set in the Notes.ini. That is, the default value for DISABLE_TRIMWS has been changed from 0 to 1. This regression was introduced in 6.0. |
SPR# AEDR5Z7Q2R - Removed a zombie process which was created each time code that handles OS390_EXPANDHFS_ENABLE=1 was invoked. |
SPR# MCAI5QDUSF - Fixed a problem where FTG_USE_SYS_MEMORY=1 full text performance tuning ini was not working in ND6. This ini should not be used unless recommended by IBM support and was a regression was introduced in 6.0. |
SPR# JCHN5XCTS5 - To prevent the error 'catalog pool full' when running the catalog task on a server with many databases with long path names, allow for the pool size to be increased from the default of 1mb all the way up to 200mb via the CATALOG_POOL_SIZE_MB= notes.ini parameter |
SPR# MOSI5XRRPG - A zero was added as a parameter to the Notes.ini variable " iNotes_WA_SametimeOrg=". iNotes_WA_SametimeOrg=1 will pass the current user's O= part of their name as the organization to Sametime (useful for xSP environments). iNotes_WA_SametimeOrg=0 will stop passing the current user's O= part of their name. Alternatively, the INI setting also supports passing a specific organization name by entering the Organization name (ie, iNotes_WA_SametimeOrg=IBM). |
SPR# KLAI5WQHWT - When the server is in an Xsp environment, and iNotes_WA_UseInternetAddrForXsp=1 is in the Notes.ini, then the From and Principal field will use the "internet address" when sending email. |
